Pamela SloanPamela Sloan is Adjunct Professor of Management and Co-director of e3 Hub: Expertise in Energy, a business-academic partnership at HEC Montréal. She teaches course in leadership, management and sustainability in the MBA, executive development and international programs. Her Ph.D. from HEC Montréal specialized in corporate strategy. She holds an M.A. in Economics from Cambridge University, and has been a Visiting Scholar at Harvard Business School and INSEAD.

Prior to pursuing an academic career, Pamela Sloan gained extensive practical experience as an executive and consultant. She is a former Vice-President of The Toronto Stock Exchange, and founder of an economics and management consulting company with corporate and government clients in Canada, the United States and Australia. Her consulting work has focused on relations between corporations and their stakeholders, and on corporate sustainability practices. She has a particular interest in the strategic management and organizational development of high performance, sustainable enterprises. She has been a member of the Board of Directors of Providence Healthcare since 2008, and is a member of the Governance Committee.

Her research focuses on the integration of strategy and sustainability, emphasizing the “mindsets” of leadership and organizational practices that enable managers to integrate economic, environmental and social issues into organizations. Her research has been published in Strategic Management Journal, Organization Science, Organization Studies, Environmental Development, Journal of Corporate Citizenship and Management. She holds a MA (Economics) from Cambridge University and has been invited as a guest researcher at Harvard Business School and INSEAD.
